Estate Administration

When someone dies owning assets in their name alone, probate administration may be required to release those assets to beneficiaries. This process is usually easier if the person that died had a Last Will and Testament. I work with the family to have the Last Will and Testament admitted to probate, and to have an Executor appointed. If there is no Last Will and Testament, then I work with the family to have an Administrator appointed. The role of the executor or administrator is to determine the assets of the decedent, their value and to distribute the assets to the beneficiaries. The probate judge oversees the actions of the executor or administrator.
